Karen Castillo Farfán
As a photojournalist and multimedia producer, Karen's published work can be seen in various organizations like the Academic Council of the United Nations System and is used by outreach programs aimed to help high risk teens. She has landed prestigious work with National Public Radio in Washington D.C., and received special recognitions such as Eddie Adams Workshop and College Photographer of the Year. Karen has produced and directed various documentary films and video projects, including followed Kenny Loggins’ band, Blue Sky Riders, as they wrote and produced their album Why Not. She also embarked on an ambitious film shooting under extreme conditions in Juarez, Mexico where she filmed Daughters of Femicide. This documentary won a finalist spot for the coveted National Public Broadcasting grant. In her free time, Karen enjoys traveling, writing, art, and spending time with her family and dogs.
